About the Role
The Construction Manager will oversee pavement construction projects, ensuring timely completion within budget and adhering to quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage pavement construction projects, including earthworks, layerworks, surfacing, and drainage
- Oversee construction teams, subcontractors, and site personnel
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental regulations
- Prepare and monitor construction programmes and schedules
- Manage plant, equipment, materials, and site resources
- Liaise with engineers, consultants, and clients
- Monitor project progress, cost control, and reporting
- Ensure adherence to contract specifications and standards
Requirements
- BSc / BEng / BTech / National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
- Registered with the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP) as: A Pr CM Professional Construction Manager, or A Pr CPM Professional Construction Project Manager
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in civil construction
- Proven experience in road and pavement works (BSM, asphalt, reseals, slurry, etc.)
- Knowledge of GCC / FIDIC / NEC contracts
