Job Description

Are you passionate about construction safety and ready to make an impact on a high-profile renewable energy project? Our client is seeking three proactive Health & Safety Officers for an exciting 18-month contract, working on a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) initiative tied to one of South Africa’s major energy utilities.

About the Role:

  • 18-month contract starting October

  • Work on a pioneering battery energy storage project

  • Be based on-site at one of three project locations (all within close proximity)

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations during construction phases

  • Opportunity to contribute to South Africas transition to more sustainable energy infrastructure

Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree in a construction-related field

  • 5+ years on-site experience in the construction industry

  • Completed health and safety training/certification

  • Experience on large-scale projects such as power stations, solar farms, mining operations, or water utilities

  • Familiarity with battery or energy storage systems is highly advantageous

  • Candidates currently employed under private contracts with a major utility will be considered; direct employees of the utility are not eligible
