About the Role
We are seeking an Early Career Finance Professional to join our team in Constantia, South Africa. As a Financial Articled Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing financial data, building systems, and improving processes. You will work closely with operations finance teams to ensure data integrity across operational and financial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and manage Order Database and Financial Database
- Cross-reference supplier, transporter, port, and client documentation
- Ensure data integrity across operational and financial systems
- Convert operational data into invoice-ready datasets
- Maintain document trails and audit-ready records
- Invoicing & Financial Portfolio Build
- Prepare reconciliations before posting to accounting system (Xero)
- Identify discrepancies and resolve invoicing errors
- Liaise with accounts and operations teams to correct mismatches
- Reconciliations & Financial Tracking
- Fuel consumption reconciliation and variance tracking
- Port report reconciliation and preparation for client reporting
- Supplier and transporter reconciliation
- Monitor and report operational financial movement
- Restructured and recurring management reports
- Financial reports: Debtors aging & collections tracking, Payables / outstanding liabilities, Cash flow tracking and reporting
- Invoice and margin performance Operational Finance Reports & Support
- Weekly tonnage and throughput reporting
- Cost per ton / operational performance metrics, and variance & trend analysis
- FX & Market monitoring of rate, track impact on transactions, costs, margins
- Support management with FX exposure visibility
- Assist managers with daily operational tracking
- Provide structured financial visibility into logistics flows
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements
Requirements
- BCom / BFin (Honours preferred)
- Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent
- CFA (Level 1) beneficial but not required
- Early career finance professional with real responsibility
Qualifications
- Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.)
