Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on, detail-oriented Operations Controller to join our dynamic operations team. The successful candidate will act as the link between the Operations Supervisor and the Tally Clerks, ensuring smooth coordination of all yard activities, container movements, and packaging operations.Key Responsibilities:Oversee yard operations to ensure correct receipt, placement, and dispatch of containers.Manage weighbridge operations ensuring all containers are accurately weighed and recorded.Communicate and implement the daily operational plan and packaging instructions to the team.Coordinate movement of containers (empty/full) and ensure proper documentation is completed.Supervise and work closely with operators to ensure MHE checklists are completed daily.Track and update diesel consumption and monitor MHE service schedules.Conduct pump house and sprinkler system tests and report any irregularities.Ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies.Support weekend operations as required for container dispatching.Requirements:Grade 12 / Matric (essential).Minimum 23 years experience in warehouse, logistics, or yard operations.Solid understanding of container handling, weighbridge systems, and MHE operations.Strong leadership and communication skills able to coordinate teams effectively.Attention to detail, accuracy in reporting, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
