About the Role
Hire Resolve’s client in KwaZulu-Natal is currently seeking a skilled Design Engineer/Technologist to join their team. As a Design Engineer/Technologist, you will be responsible for designing and managing engineering projects for various clients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strong technical skills and contribute to Conceptual to Detailed Design, Documentation and Contract Administration of services for civil infrastructure projects including but not limited to:
- Earthworks
- Roads
- Stormwater Reticulation
- Sewer Reticulation
- Water Reticulation
- Ensure all designs are checked and approved by the relevant manager (professionally registered) prior to forwarding to the relevant client and contractor
- The preparation of feasibility reports
- Attending meetings with clients and stakeholders as and when required
- Assist with the implementation of medium to large sized projects within technical standards, quality, budgets, and time frames. This includes the technical support to senior members of the Technical teams.
- Ensure effectiveness, quality, and profitability of completed projects including project follow-up, to monitor project deliverables and client satisfaction levels.
- Site supervision as and when required
- Complete any other work related to projects within the Department
- Ability to use the following software proficiently: AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, AutoCAD Civil 3D , Bill Software
- Contribute to the preparation of project reports and develop proficiency in technical report writing
- Deliver high quality civil engineering design, drafting and reports in an efficient and effective manner
- A working understanding of project finances and project budgets for medium to large scale projects.
Requirements
- Completed minimum BTech or B.Eng.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite (Ms Word, MS Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint)
- No less than 4 years experience in a similar position within a Consulting Engineering firm
- Working knowledge of drawing and design packages
- AutoCAD Civil 3D experience essential
- Well presented, articulate, assertive, and confident individual
- Mature and professional demeanour
- The ability to work independently as well as support a team of Professionals
- Good time management skills
- Able to contribute positively as part of a team, helping out with various tasks as required
