Job Summary

Our client, a respected leader in the logistics and shipping sector, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to oversee the full finance function and contribute to the organisations continued success. This role is based in Durban and offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong technical and analytical skills to make a significant impact. Duties: Full Financial Functions: Manage Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bookkeeping to trial balance, and present monthly management accounts. Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly management reports, perform variance analysis, and deliver budget vs actual insights. Payroll & Compliance: Oversee payroll reviews, process journals, manage VAT reconciliations and submissions. Audit & Controls: Prepare audit files, liaise with auditors, and maintain robust financial controls. Cash & Asset Management: Manage fixed asset register, review cashbooks, and oversee bank transactions. Business Support: Assist with budgeting, cost management, financial investigations, and general administrative duties including drafting agreements. Education and Experience: BCom Honours 35 years relevant work experience A proven track record within the logistics and shipping industry Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure The capability to communicate financial insights to management and support strategic decision-making This is an excellent opportunity for a driven finance professional seeking to add value within a dynamic, growing business environment.

Job Summary

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, and timely monthly reporting to the Financial Manager. The role ensures that all reporting, compliance, and financial analysis requirements are met, while contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes. Key Responsibilities: Reporting, Preparation & Analysis: Deliver accurate flash reporting packs and final accounts to the Financial Manager within deadlines. Prepare monthly management accounts and perform general ledger reconciliations. Compile monthly management packs for reporting channels. Provide financial commentary and value driver analysis. Prepare the group reporting pack. Complete underwriting and product profitability value driver reports. Assist with expense analysis and reporting. Submit monthly TMPS reporting. Maintain budget and forecast models. Manage business cash flows and cash flow forecasts. Assist in preparing annual financial statements. Liaise with auditors and provide required information. Other Duties: Prepare commission calculations. Assist in preparing board packs. Supervise Debtors and Finance Clerk. Support the application of new accounting standards. Keep updated with new tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, while assessing impact on the business. Qualifications & Experience: B.Com or an equivalent Accounting Degree. 13 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role. Completion of SAICA articles (preferred). Job Summary

Job and Company Description Our client, a trusted leader in the logistics and shipping sector, is looking for a highly skilled Financial Accountant to oversee the full finance function and contribute to the organisations continued success. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a finance professional with strong technical and analytical skills to make a tangible impact in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage full-function Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Prepare monthly management reports with variance analysis and commentary Handle bookkeeping to trial balance, preparation, and presentation of management accounts Oversee the payroll function, including reviewing payroll analysis and processing journals Prepare VAT reconciliations and submit VAT returns Maintain and manage the fixed asset register Review cashbook, release bank transactions, and manage bank accounts Prepare audit files and liaise with auditors during annual audits Drive budgeting, cost management, and budget vs. actual reporting Investigate and recommend solutions for financial matters impacting business performance Draft agreements and handle general administrative duties Candidate Profile: Qualification: BCom Honours (Accounting/Finance) Experience: 35 years relevant work experience Proven track record within the logistics and shipping industry Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure Apply now!

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations for sign-off by the Financial Manager Manage Finance Clerks to ensure achievement of departmental objectives Review accruals submitted by finance clerks Assist with Forex transactions, including instructions and FECs Participate in stock counts and investigate stock discrepancies Post month-end journal entries to finalize the trial balance Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns Investigate and resolve intercompany debtor/creditor queries Assist in financial projects and ad hoc tasks Handle petty cash transactions Support external auditors during audits Prepare and upload monthly Hyperion pack and operational reports Act as Finance Manager in their absence Requirements: Tertiary qualification in Finance (e.g. BCom) Completed articles  and postgraduate qualification  (advantageous) Solid understanding of costing  and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Strong knowledge of accounting and tax principles Experience with Hyperion, JD Edwards (JDE), and ABACA  (beneficial) Proficient in Excel models, pivot tables , and MS Office Suite Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently and take initiative Able to manage deadlines under pressure, including overtime and weekends when required
