Job Summary
The role ensures that all reporting, compliance, and financial analysis requirements are met, while contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Reporting, Preparation & Analysis:
- Deliver accurate flash reporting packs and final accounts to the Financial Manager within deadlines.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and perform general ledger reconciliations.
- Compile monthly management packs for reporting channels.
- Provide financial commentary and value driver analysis.
- Prepare the group reporting pack.
- Complete underwriting and product profitability value driver reports.
- Assist with expense analysis and reporting.
- Submit monthly TMPS reporting.
- Maintain budget and forecast models.
- Manage business cash flows and cash flow forecasts.
- Assist in preparing annual financial statements.
- Liaise with auditors and provide required information.
Other Duties:
- Prepare commission calculations.
- Assist in preparing board packs.
- Supervise Debtors and Finance Clerk.
- Support the application of new accounting standards.
- Keep updated with new tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements, while assessing impact on the business.
Qualifications & Experience:
- B.Com or an equivalent Accounting Degree.
- 1–3 years of experience in a similar financial accounting role.
- Completion of SAICA articles (preferred).
- Experience in the insurance industry (advantageous).
- Strong financial reporting and analysis experience.
