About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Sales Manager to join our client in Durban, who will be responsible for driving sales growth and leading a high-performing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipping and logistics, with a proven track record of success in sales leadership and business development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth across the South African, African, and Far East trade lanes
- Lead and manage a team of sales professionals to achieve sales targets and expand market share
- Provide expert knowledge of intermodal logistics, including Durban–Gauteng, cross-border, and port corridors
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to inform business development initiatives
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive process improvements and optimize operations
Requirements
- Matric or Equivalent Qualifications
- 10 years of senior commercial experience in shipping or logistics
- Proven success in sales leadership, people management, and business development
- Strong knowledge of the South African, African, and Far East trade lanes
- Expertise in intermodal logistics
- High commercial acumen with a solid understanding of margin, yield, and portfolio management
- Advanced computer skills, including CRM and Microsoft Office
- Customer-centric, decisive leader with strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
