About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Plate Mounter to join our team at PLS STAFFING in Durban. As a Plate Mounter, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate application of plates to cylinders/sleeves using mounting machines, while also maintaining equipment and working closely with press operators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Precision Mounting: Accurately apply plates to cylinders/sleeves using mounting machines to ensure proper registration and alignment.
  • Job Preparation: Review job orders/tickets to identify correct plates, sleeves, and tape specifications.
  • Quality Control: Inspect plates for defects (e.g., scratches, incorrect thickness) and verify mounting accuracy to meet quality standards.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and service mounting machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Operational Support: Work with press operators to minimize downtime, manage plate inventory, and adhere to production schedules.
