Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project plans and proposals, working with management to define project objectives, phases, and deliverables
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules, timelines, and milestones
- Partner with marketing to define requirements for new products or platforms
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to allocate technical resources
- Monitor and control project plans, including design, specifications, schedules, and costs
- Proactively identify risks, troubleshoot issues, and recommend corrective actions
- Advocate for the design team by identifying and removing project roadblocks
- Resolve manufacturing, operations, purchasing, technology, and design issues impacting project success
- Track milestones, deliverables, and maintain accurate project documentation
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders and prepare clear project status reports
- Establish design qualification, field-testing, and production testing plans
- Coordinate with operations to transfer new products into production
- Deliver training for customer service teams on new products
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering-related design and/or project management
- Broad technical knowledge and design experience within similar product lines
- Proven ability to take ownership of projects and manage them end-to-end
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering development objectives
- Ability to motivate and guide technical professionals in a collaborative environment
- Excellent problem-solving and proactive troubleshooting skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Agility to adapt to shifting priorities, requirements, and timelines
- Big picture thinking, to clearly articulate the full product development lifecycle, from ideation through to production
