About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Maintenance Technicians to join our team at our bakery plant in Durban. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production facilities. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, as well as assisting with predictive and preventive maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment
• Assist with scheduled maintenance and equipment inspections
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems
• Calibrate equipment to ensure accuracy and quality
• Install and commission new equipment and facilities
• Collaborate with Production team to minimize downtime and ensure equipment availability

Requirements

• ND Eng (Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation) or Trade Tested Millwright/Fitter & Turner/Electrician/Refrigeration Tech.
• 2-4 years of post-qualification experience in maintenance/repairs/projects in a frozen dough/bread/flour confectionery production/packing factory
• Experience with PLC/SCADA/other industrial control systems recommended

Qualifications

• CompLit (or equivalent)
• ND Eng degree or relevant trade certification
