About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to lead our electrical team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of battery management systems, and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively manage teams, liaise with clients, and drive production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate production teams to ensure efficient workflow and consistent high-quality output.
- Oversee day-to-day production processes and support the implementation of quality control measures.
- Troubleshoot production breakdowns and assist with resolving technical issues.
- Report directly to the General Manager with regular updates and weekly reports.
- Ensure production standards and quality requirements are consistently met.
- Maintain a positive, energetic, and productive work environment.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients from an aftersales perspective.
- Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with both team members and clients.
- Lead aftersales activities and act as the link between technicians and customers.
- Support ongoing process improvements and operational development initiatives.
Requirements
- Matric Diploma, Degree, or relevant technical qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Valid drivers license and own reliable vehicle (non-negotiable).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with lithium batteries, including assembly and/or building.
- Forklift license (advantageous).
- Basic coding or programming knowledge (advantageous).
