About the Role
Our Hotel in East London is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team with excellence. With a passion for maintaining impeccable standards and creating a welcoming environment, we are looking for an individual who shares our commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire housekeeping department, ensuring smooth operations and high standards
- Supervise and coordinate housekeeping staff schedules and duties
- Inspect rooms and public areas to ensure exceptional cleanliness and presentation
- Maintain inventory and stock levels, ensuring efficient supply management
- Conduct regular room checks, report maintenance issues, and follow up on action plans
- Lead stock takes, monitor variances, and manage condemned items
- Train staff on room types, amenities, and housekeeping best practices
- Foster a positive and motivated team, recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance
- Address performance issues professionally and encourage a culture of excellence
- Build strong relationships with guests, staff, and management to enhance service delivery
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and hygiene standards
Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
- A relevant Hospitality Diploma or equivalent qualification
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
- Proven ability to manage stock controls and housekeeping operations efficiently
- Ability to anticipate guests’ needs and respond proactively
