East London: ICT Technician

Required Education: Must have Information Technology related degree/diploma Skills: At least 5 years ICT technical experience Problem analysis/solving Good interpersonal skills Understanding of the TCP-IP Networking Stack Microsoft Platform: Server Operating Systems, Remote Desktop Protocol, Active Directory, DNS Linux understanding of the platform and getting around, OpenVPN Mikrotik OS knowledge Responsibilities include: Responsible for maintaining the companies software computer system, including the local area network (LAN) Performing backups and restores as required, and when disaster recovery tests are required Ensure security of the systems are maintained Ensure passwords to the administrative user-ids are maintained and reset as required Troubleshooting any routine problems that users cannot fix on their own, eg printers Performance Monitoring of client systems as well as our own Responsible for Nagios, and reporting proactively on issues picked up Keep documentation up to date, and key resolutions of all incidents and user queries Keep management and designated others fully and accurately informed concerning problems Ensure confidentiality of company and client privileged information Undertake relevant projects Any other reasonable tasks as required by senior management from time to time
