Maintenance Lead required for a reputable automotive company based in East London
Purpose
Directly oversee Shift Leaders, Store Staff, Clerks, and the Tooling Department to ensure effective maintenance operations and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities

Directly oversee Shift Leaders, Store Staff, Clerks, and the Tooling Department
-
Oversee equipment, tooling, and utilities
-
Compile weekly reports, including top downtime, corrective actions, KPIs, and PM adherence
-
Attend daily Operations meetings to provide feedback on equipment status and action plans
-
Attend daily Scrap/Quality meetings and implement actions to minimize losses
-
Liaise with Planning to integrate the preventative maintenance plan into the production plan
-
Compile monthly departmental KPI reports with ICA / PCA actions
-
Liaise with suppliers and contractors for planned projects, maintenance, and repairs
-
Obtain quotations based on SOWs and raise PORs within One BPM
-
Track expenses and manage budgets to remain within monthly limits
-
Recruit (interviews) and train new team members in line with company procedures
-
Manage budgets for spares and consumables
-
Champion Continuous Improvement initiatives, including energy savings and Kaizen activities
-
Act as stand-in and 2IC to the Technical Manager
Requirements
-
N5 / Engineering Diploma / Equivalent qualification
-
Engineering Degree will be an added advantage
-
Experience in maintenance and engineering practices
-
Supervisory experience will be an added advantage
-
810 years experience in an automotive maintenance environment
-
Strong computer literacy
-
Ability to learn quickly and work independently

Excellent leadership and organizational skills
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills
