About the Role
A leading company in the industrial water treatment, hygiene and sanitation solutions sector is seeking an experienced Direct Procurement Specialist to join their team in Edenvale, Gauteng. The role focuses on managing strategic sourcing activities for direct materials and services that support manufacturing, operations, and supply chain continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full direct procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, contracting, and supplier management.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies for direct spend categories aligned with business objectives.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable supply.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service levels and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with operations, production, logistics, quality, and finance teams.
- Monitor supplier performance, manage risks, and ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support inventory planning and supply continuity to minimise disruptions.
- Analyse procurement data and prepare reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in direct procurement.
- Proven experience within a relevant industrial environment, such as industrial chemicals, water technologies, hygiene solutions, manufacturing, or related process-driven industries.
- Strong commercial acumen with proven negotiation and contract management experience.
- Experience working with ERP or procurement systems.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and suppliers in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, or a related field.
