Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Divisional Growth and Financial Performance Outcomes: Above-inflation revenue growth and sustainable profitability across all Comminution products and ancillaries. Improved margins through value-based selling, cost control, and lifecycle cost optimisation for customers. Accountabilities: Deliver approved annual budgets, forecasts, margins, and resource plans. Drive growth of the installed base and aftermarket pull-through. Ensure disciplined cash flow management through contract structures, payment milestones, and risk management. Develop and execute business cases for R&D, capital investment, and strategic initiatives. Market Leadership and Differentiation Outcomes: Clear and defensible competitive advantage for company Comminution solutions. Strong market reputation for reliability, innovation, and total cost of ownership. Accountabilities: Lead development, improvement, and localisation of products and ancillaries. Identify and commercialise new products, services, and service models. Translate customer pain points into differentiated technical and commercial solutions. Monitor competitor activity, technology trends, and market shifts. Sales, Tendering and Contracting Excellence Outcomes: Robust and sustainable capital equipment sales pipeline. High-quality tenders with managed risk and predictable execution. Accountabilities Oversee sales strategy, pipeline development, and key opportunity pursuit. Review and approve tenders, proposals, pricing strategies, and contractual terms. Ensure disciplined project costing, risk assessment, and contractual compliance. Maintain strong senior-level customer engagement and market visibility. Strategy, Planning & Governance Outcomes: Clear strategic direction aligned with company objectives. Predictable execution against plans with proactive corrective action. Accountabilities: Develop and implement divisional strategy, annual operating plans, and forecasts. Track performance against KPIs and lead corrective actions where required. Contribute actively to Senior Management policy, strategy, and governance forums. Provide accurate, timely reporting to Executive Management. Product, Engineering and Quality Assurance Outcomes: Fit-for-purpose, reliable products that meet application requirements. Sustained ISO 9001 compliance and strong quality culture. Accountabilities: Provide engineering oversight across product design, application engineering, and performance validation. Ensure robust drawing / document control, QIR management, and non-conformance resolution. Lead root cause analysis and customer feedback loops for continuous improvement. Maintain company ISO certification and adherence to engineering and industry standards. Project Delivery and Customer Outcomes Outcomes: Projects delivered on time, on budget, and to specification. High levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business. Accountabilities: Monitor and support project execution with Project Management teams. Act as escalation point for critical technical, commercial, or customer issues. Maintain transparent, proactive communication with clients throughout project lifecycles. Conduct site visits as required to ensure alignment and resolve challenges. Leadership, People and Capability Development Outcomes: High-performing, accountable leadership team. Strong talent pipeline and succession planning. Accountabilities: Lead, coach, mentor and develop Department Managers against clear performance outcomes. Identify capability gaps and implement targeted training and development plans. Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance reviews, talent planning, and disciplinary processes in line with HR policies. Compliance, Risk and Sustainability Outcomes: Zero compromise on safety, legal, and ethical standards. Sustainable and compliant business operations. Accountabilities: Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, health & safety, and BBBEE requirements. Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, commercial, and technical risks. Embed risk-aware decision-making across the Division. Qualification: Engineering Degree, Business or Management Qualification (advantageous) Experience: Minimum 7 years senior technical and leadership experience in the mining or heavy engineering sector. Core Competencies: Strategic leadership and commercial acumen. Strong financial, contract, and risk management capability. Deep product and application knowledge in comminution. Decisive, outcomes-driven leadership style. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
