About the Role
Unique Personnel Ltd is seeking an experienced Production Planner and Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our production department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our paint manufacturing processes. Your dual-role position will bridge the gap between supply chain/procurement and manufacturing, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet sales forecasts and customer demand, optimizing resource and capacity utilization.
- Create works orders based on requirements for orders and stock level maintenance and complete works orders after production.
- Monitor production processes, ensuring adherence to the schedule and resolving any issues or bottlenecks that arise in the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with the Quality Control department to maintain strict quality standards throughout the production cycle, ensuring all batches meet formulation specifications.
- Prepare and analyse production reports, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) like output, efficiency, and waste, and suggesting areas for continuous improvement.
- Ensure all production activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to paint and chemical manufacturing.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a production coordination role, preferably within a chemical, paint, or process manufacturing environment.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.) for inventory management and production planning.
- Education: Matric and tertiary education beneficial.
