About the Role
We are a growing business that believes in teamwork, trust, and getting the job done right. We are now looking for a hands-on Bookkeeper to join our team and help keep our finances running smoothly. Key Responsibilities
- Keeping our financial records accurate and up to date.
- Capturing invoices, payments, and transactions in our accounting system (Sage / Xero / Pastel).
- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and petty cash.
- Making sure our suppliers are paid on time and customers are invoiced correctly.
- Managing debtors and creditors with a friendly but professional touch.
- Assisting with payroll and SARS submissions (PAYE, UIF, VAT).
- Preparing simple monthly reports for management.
- Assisting with provisional tax (IRP6) calculations and submissions to SARS.
- Helping us stay on track for year-end audits.
- Capturing and managing inventory records, reconciling stock, and assisting with stock counts.
- Jumping in with general admin support when needed.
Requirements
- Matric
- 3 years proven bookkeeping experience (ideally in a small or medium business).
- Comfortable using accounting software (Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or Pastel). Prefer Xero.
- Solid Excel and computer skills.
- A good understanding of South African tax and payroll basics.
- Organised, accurate, and reliable with great attention to detail.
- A team player who’s also happy to work independently.
Qualifications
- A bookkeeping or accounting qualification would be a bonus, but experience is just as valuable.
