About the Role

The Elandsfontein Business Representative role is a critical position that drives sales growth, strengthens customer relationships, and ensures smooth business administration and stock control. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for canvassing and managing customers, supporting marketing strategies, monitoring stock, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Canvassing and opening new customer accounts
  • Monitoring monthly sales and achieving targets
  • Providing monthly feedback and reporting to the Regional Manager
  • Developing and implementing marketing and promotional ideas in line with company strategy
  • Hosting trade evenings and customer engagement events to grow market share
  • Monitoring stock availability, assisting with forecasting, and supporting customers in stock management
  • Supporting the debtors team to ensure effective collection and customer query resolution
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and financial controls
  • Delivering excellent customer service, training, and product presentations
  • Monitoring costs, pricing structures, and gross profit margins

Requirements

  • Diploma/Certificate (NQF 5) or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Business Representative or in a similar sales role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer literacy (MS Office, SAP/ERP systems, Salesforce, or similar)
  • South African Citizen with a valid drivers licence

About the Role

As a Business Representative at our company, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and building strong relationships with customers. You will work closely with various teams to ensure efficient operations and maintain operational integrity. Your primary focus will be on engaging with potential customers, analyzing performance, and implementing strategies to drive improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with potential customers to open new accounts based on future growth potential.
  • Track monthly sales per customer and analyze performance against targets, implementing strategies to drive improvements.
  • Extract sales data from the SAP system and create action plans when needed to stay on target.
  • Provide monthly updates to management on all customer-related activities.
  • Collaborate with marketing to propose new ideas and assist clients in aligning their strategies with the company’s vision.
  • Work with warehouse and logistics teams to ensure efficient route planning.
  • Organize trade evenings and promotional events to foster customer relationships and increase product awareness.
  • Lead and monitor promotional campaigns to grow and strengthen the customer base.
  • Assist with the credit application process and collaborate on timely collection of outstanding payments.
  • Partner with the debtors’ team to ensure that all accounts are settled within 45 days.
  • Proactively manage relationships with high-risk customers to mitigate potential issues.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of company vehicles and equipment according to company policy.
  • Participate in monthly meetings to review new business opportunities and customer progress.
  • Stock Control: Liaise with the warehouse to ensure optimal stock availability and resolve any stock-related queries.
  • Support the consignment stock process when required.
  • Monitor customer buying patterns to help forecast stock requirements and assist in inventory planning.
  • Ensure stock rotations are properly managed and replenished as needed.
  • Operate within company procedures and controls to maintain operational integrity.
  • Report potential risks and concerns to management for proactive resolution.
  • Promote compliance with all regulations to avoid unnecessary expenditure and waste.
