About the Role
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a talented and motivated Dispensary Support to join our team. As a learner pharmacist assistant, you will have the opportunity to complete a 12-month training program that will equip you with the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified pharmacist’s assistant. This role offers a great chance for personal growth and development in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications and preparing prescriptions
- Maintain accurate records of patient medication history and script tracking reports
- Ensure accurate picking, packing, and labelling of medications
- Manage stock levels and report on low/ out-of-stock levels to the Dispensary Manager
- Provide excellent customer service and support to patients
- Assist with dispensing and compounding of non-sterile medicines and scheduled substances
- Maintain a clean and organized dispensary environment
Requirements
- Grade 12 Matric or Senior Certificate with Pure Mathematics, Life Science, and/or Physical Science (minimum 50% average)
- Proficiency test approval to apply for registration as a learner basic pharmacist assistant with the Pharmacy Council of South Africa (SAPC)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Qualifications
- Completed Dispensary Support training program approved by SAPC
- Valid dispensary support certificate issued by a recognized training provider
