About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and motivated Commis Chef to join a prestigious luxury wine estate based in Franschhoek, South Africa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for contributing to the success of our kitchen team and ensuring exceptional culinary experiences for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all mise en place, including preparation and cutting of meat and fish.
- Cook and arrange food according to instructions from senior chefs.
- Coordinate kitchen activities to ensure an efficient and smooth food service.
- Control costs by minimising waste, spoilage, and adhering to portion control standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a similar role.
- Competent knife skills.
- Knowledge of basic herbs, spices, ingredients, and their uses.
- Ability to ensure all prep work is completed to the required standard.
- Capable of multitasking and performing well under pressure.
Qualifications
- Matric Certificate.
- Diploma in Professional Cookery is advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from R7,000 – R9,000 per month, negotiable depending on experience.
