About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join a prestigious luxury hotel and vineyard based in Franschhoek. This role requires a hands-on and commercially minded professional who will oversee the full financial management function, drive profitability, and support strategic decision-making within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, accuracy, and service excellence.
- Set clear goals, provide coaching, and drive continuous improvement across the department.
- Manage workloads effectively and address any team concerns promptly.
- Build financial awareness across departments and provide guidance to non-financial managers.
- Oversee the full financial accounting function, including journals, reconciliations, month-end, management accounts, and intercompany transactions.
- Manage and develop financial systems in line with business and reporting needs.
- Drive profitability through continuous review of cost structures, margins, and yields.
- Present financial insights, forecasts, and variance analyses to senior management.
- Ensure accurate and timeous monthly reporting, including P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Produce detailed monthly departmental financial reports (Rooms, F&B, Spa, Winery, Retail).
- Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process in collaboration with department heads.
- Analyse variances between budgets, forecasts, actuals, and key performance indicators.
- Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimisation.

Qualifications
BCom Accounting or equivalent degree. Completed SAICA articles. Minimum of 5 years post-article experience in financial management or senior accounting. Hospitality industry experience preferred, with knowledge of restaurant POS and Property Management Systems. Proficiency in Sage X3 is essential.
