About the Role
The Corporate Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and regulatory compliance across a group of hospitality and lodge entities. This position requires a highly skilled and experienced accounting professional who can work closely with the Financial Manager and report directly to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes
- Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements and management reports
- Perform account reconciliations, variance analysis, and balance sheet reviews
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports for senior management and shareholders
- Deliver board-level financial packs and executive summaries
- Ensure full IFRS compliance and adherence to group accounting policies
- Support and coordinate external audits
- Maintain strong internal control frameworks
- Manage tax computations and submissions including Corporate Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, and Deferred Tax
- Process Improvement: Identify, design, and implement accounting process improvements
- Improve systems efficiency, reporting accuracy, and close timelines
- Strengthen reconciliation processes and financial controls
- Support automation and integration between operational and corporate finance systems
Requirements
- South African Citizen (No Work Permits)
- Grade 12 Relevant qualifications Degree/Diploma
- Strong IFRS technical accounting knowledge (essential)
- Experience in corporate accounting, consolidations, and statutory reporting
- Hospitality, luxury lodge, or multi-entity group experience advantageous
- Solid tax and audit coordination experience
- Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency
