Job Summary

This is not just about crunching numbers – it’s about using them to tell a story that shapes decisions across sales, marketing, and executive planning. The Financial Manager (Commercial) role is designed for someone who can straddle technical financial rigour and the dynamic pace of FMCG environments.

Here’s a chance to partner directly with the Commercial department, unlocking insights that drive profitability, streamline operations, and support revenue growth. This role demands an individual who can lead with data, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and enhance strategic performance across the organisation.

Duties:

Act as a strategic financial partner to the Commercial department.
Analyse weekly, monthly, and annual sales trends.
Conduct profitability assessments of the product mix and SKU range.
Investigate variances against budget and provide actionable insight.
Calculate profit & loss for both current and proposed SKUs.
Drive financial improvement initiatives across the Commercial function.
Assist in pricing strategies, contract negotiation, and business development opportunities.
Prepare income statements, performance KPIs, and sales/marketing reports.
Forecast and budget planning support.
Use data analytics to identify key trends.
Collaborate with marketing to ensure financial and commercial alignment.

Job Experience & Skills Required:
Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
BCom or BCom Honours in Accounting or equivalent.
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

Experience:

8 – 10 years’ experience in a Finance role.
Proven track record in the FMCG sector.
Syspro experience advantageous

Skills & Competencies:

Strong financial acumen and analytical ability.
Leadership and business partnering capabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines
Commercial mindset with the ability to work under pressure.
Problem-solving orientation with emotional maturity.
