Responsibilities:

• Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and other tools.
• Manufacture, repair, and modify components per engineering drawings/specifications.
• Perform precision machining (turning, threading, boring, cutting).
• Use calipers, micrometers, and gauges for accurate measurements.
• Assemble, dismantle, and repair mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Install and align shafts, gears, bearings, and components.
• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on machines/equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical faults and apply corrective actions.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
• Ensure work meets quality standards and tolerances.
• Follow OHS Act, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with maintenance/engineering teams for reliability.
• Recommend process improvements in machining and maintenance.
• Mentor and support apprentices or junior staff.

Essential Requirements:

• Trade Test Certificate: Fitter & Turner (Red Seal preferred).
• N3/N4 Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• 2–5 years’ experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy engineering environments.
• Experience with lathes, milling machines, grinders, welding, and precision measuring tools.
• Understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems advantageous.
