Core Criteria:
- Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or related field.
- 3–5 years HR Manager/Assistant HR Manager experience in hospitality (hotel or lodge).
- Proven experience managing HR functions for 100+ employees.
- Experience across multiple hospitality properties.
- Knowledge of hospitality labour practices, service charge management, and seasonal staffing.
- Payroll system experience (e.g., SAGE).
- Strong knowledge of South African labour legislation and IR processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage diverse, multilingual workforces.
- High emotional intelligence and conflict-resolution ability.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Integrity, discretion, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Approachable and empathetic, able to engage at all levels.
- Resilient in high-pressure hospitality environments.

Candidate Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement group-wide HR strategies, policies, and procedures aligned with organisational goals and South African labour legislation.
- Support hotel leadership teams to drive a consistent, high-performance hospitality culture.
- Contribute to executive and operational decisions impacting workforce planning and organisational design.
- Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, EE Act, OHSA, and hospitality-sector requirements.
- Manage disciplinary action, grievances, CCMA preparation, union interaction, and conflict resolution.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, audits, and statutory reporting.
- Oversee recruitment lifecycle across all properties.
- Implement onboarding programmes and maintain accurate job profiles.
- Drive diversity, transformation, and Employment Equity initiatives.
- Conduct skills assessments and oversee training plans.
- Manage performance appraisal systems promoting accountability and high performance.
- Maintain training records for compliance and development.
- Oversee payroll administration (salaries, benefits, service charges, gratuities, leave, statutory deductions).
- Ensure HR records, HRIS systems, and reporting processes are accurate and consistent.
- Manage HR budgets and optimise HR operations.
- Promote workforce engagement through wellness initiatives, staff events, and recognition programmes.
- Maintain visible HR presence at hotel sites, acting as a trusted advisor.
- Foster a positive organisational culture supporting retention and service excellence.
- Travel between hotel properties.
- Availability for after-hours HR support during operational incidents.
- Interaction with unions, consultants, training providers, and auditors.
