JOB CONTEXT:
We are seeking a dynamic Junior Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) to lead our financial operations. This pivotal leadership role will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, audits, supply chain finance, procurement, and compliance, while delivering strategic insights that support executive decision-making and drive sustainable growth.
The successful candidate will bring a proven track record in financial management, with essential experience gained within the engineering, manufacturing, or a similar technical/industrial environment. Exposure to project-based accounting, cost control, and supply chain finance in these sectors will be highly advantageous.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with company goals.
- Advise the CEO and executive team on financial performance and risk.
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audit processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Manage the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts.
- Monitor budget variances and implement corrective actions.
Supply Chain Finance
- Oversee financial aspects of procurement, inventory, and logistics.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to optimize cost efficiency.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Monitor cash flow, manage banking relationships, and optimize working capital.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead and mentor finance staff, fostering a culture of accountability and growth.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive automation and efficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Deep understanding of IFRS, tax legislation, and audit procedures.
- Proven ability to manage project-based accounting and cost control within an engineering, manufacturing, or similar industrial environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and results-driven mindset.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- CA(SA) – Essential.
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in financial management.
- Experience in the engineering, manufacturing, or industrial sectors – highly advantageous.
- Proven track record in supply chain finance, auditing, and financial reporting.
- Proven experience within the engineering, manufacturing, or a similar technical/industrial environment – essential.
- Experience in preparing financial statements, management accounts, and audit support.
- Solid understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and cost analysis.
PACKAGE & REMUNERATION:
- Compensation will be determined based on qualifications, applicable experience, and previous earnings.
