Job Summary

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management is very important
  • 2-3 years’ experience as a HR Generalist
  • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools and payroll and human resources software
  • Problem-solving skills and resourceful thinking
  • Leadership and coaching skills
  • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to detail and analytically driven

Duties and responsibilities (include but is not limited to):

  • Human resources policies and procedures: Developing, implementing, and administering HR policies and procedures
  • Employee relations: Guiding management on employee relations and performance management
  • Recruitment: Recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified job applicants
  • Benefits and compensation: Administering benefits, compensation, and employee performance programs
  • Training and development: Setting up learning and development programs, and reviewing, tracking, and documenting compliance with training
  • Employee experience: Implementing programs to improve the employee experience
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local and national regulations and employment laws
  • Reports: Providing reports requested by management, such as around absenteeism or leave
  • HR information systems: Using HR information systems/reports to gather people data and insights
  • Organizational structure: Designing organizational structures with business leaders
  • Employer brand: Creating an employer brand
  • Conflict resolution: Playing a role in conflict resolution
  • Labour law management, along with SEESA
  • Taking appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances 
  • BBBEE management
  • Payroll management
  • Personal Assistant to the Directors
