Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Set up, operate, and maintain vertical boring machines according to work orders and engineering drawings.
Perform precision turning and machining of components to required tolerances.
Inspect and measure components using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues on vertical boring machines.
Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and production standards.
Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes.

Requirements:

Completed relevant trade qualification (e.g., Fitting & Turning / Mechanical Engineering trade).
Minimum 5–7 years’ experience on vertical boring machines.
Strong knowledge of machining principles, tooling, and measurement techniques.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Understanding of health and safety procedures in a workshop environment.

Desirable Skills:

Experience with CNC vertical boring machines is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
