Duties:

• Design, build and maintain data analytics models, scripts, dashboards and reusable programs to support internal audit and continuous monitoring.
• Extract, clean, prepare and validate data from multiple sources, ensuring quality, accuracy and integrity for analytics projects.
• Support audit teams with data-driven insights, developing tailored analytics tests aligned to risk and control frameworks.
• Create and maintain common data sets, data dictionaries and documentation to improve audit efficiency and coverage.
• Execute advanced analytics using tools such as SQL, Python and Power BI to identify trends, anomalies and risks.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to integrate analytics into the audit workflow and deliver meaningful insights.
• Prepare audit working papers, document findings, and present results to management and audit committees.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, regulatory changes and emerging technologies to enhance analytics capability.

Job Experience & Skills Required:

Qualifications:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• A relevant degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Auditing.
• Professional certifications in Python, SQL, Power BI, Machine Learning, or related data analytics tools (advantageous if not already obtained).

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data analytics, preferably within internal audit, risk, or financial services (insurance industry experience advantageous).
• Proven expertise in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn) for data analysis, automation, and machine learning.
• Strong proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight) and advanced knowledge of data mining, analysis, and dashboard design
• Solid understanding of database structures, machine learning algorithms, and data governance principles 

Skills & Competencies:

• Proactive, self-motivated, results-oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Flexible, adaptable to change, and committed to high ethical standards and integrity.
• Strong attention to detail, able to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL, ACL, SAS, and Excel for data analytics and automation.
• Experience with data visualization and dashboard tools (Power BI, Tableau, QuickSight) and knowledge of database structures, data models, and flows.
• Ability to automate analyses and perform continuous monitoring, delivering actionable insights efficiently.
