About the Role
Our medium-sized firm of Registered Auditors and Chartered Accountants, based in Hillcrest, Durban, is looking for ambitious SAICA Trainee Accountants to join our team for the 2026 intake. This is an exciting chance to embark on your journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA) in a challenging yet productive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing audit tasks timeously and being proactive in obtaining reliable and sufficient evidence.
- Producing client reports (AFS, minutes, certificates, management letters).
- Assisting managers with identifying material issues.
- Completing tax returns and performing other non-audit tasks as required.
- Communicating professionally with clients.
- Working effectively in teams and upholding company ethics and values with integrity.
- Managing your personal performance and learning trajectory.
- Exercising professional judgement and completing work with due care.
Requirements
- Matric/Grade 12 with good results.
- Must have obtained a recognised SAICA accredited degree OR be set to complete the degree by the end of 2026.
- Must be starting or continuing CTA in 2026 (Trainee Accountants will need to be registered for their postgraduate qualifications).
- Commitment to passing all required ITC and APC tests/exams within the prescribed period/attempts.
- Must have a valid drivers license and own car and be a REGULAR driver.
- Willingness to travel within South Africa and be away from home for up to 4 weeks at a time.
- Willingness to work overtime during peak times.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office literate).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; must be well-presented and well-spoken.
Qualifications
No formal education or certifications are required, as the candidate will be completing their degree by the end of 2026.
