Job Description
The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the branch. This includes driving sales growth, managing staff, ensuring effective stock control, and optimizing resources to achieve branch targets. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the hardware or paint industry.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Sales Management
- Develop and implement sales strategies to increase branch revenue.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships by ensuring excellent service delivery.
- Supervise external sales, technical representatives, internal sales staff, and shop assistants.
- Oversee merchandising of the sales floor, ensuring effective displays and accurate shelf markings.
Stock & Process Management
- Manage stock levels and make informed decisions regarding replenishment.
- Conduct stock takes and maintain tight inventory control.
- Minimize shrinkage by enforcing supply chain and stock-handling procedures.
- Oversee the receiving and distribution of goods.
Administration
- Review and authorize all credit notes and purchase orders.
- Ensure branch administration is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Staff Management
- Lead, motivate, and manage staff across the branch.
- Conduct team meetings and communicate company strategies.
- Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and drive efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures in all work areas.
Skills & Requirements
- Previous experience in a branch management role within the hardware or paint sector is essential.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven sales ability and customer service focus.
- Strong organizational, planning, and delegation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
