About the Role
The Storeman position is a critical role in our warehouse operations, responsible for receiving, processing, and maintaining inventory of automotive parts. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and process incoming parts shipments
- Organize and maintain parts inventory in designated storage areas
- Pick, pack, and dispatch parts orders accurately and efficiently
- Maintain accurate stock records using computerized inventory management systems
- Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Identify and report damaged, obsolete, or slow-moving stock
- Ensure proper storage conditions and security of all parts
- Assist customers and sales staff in locating specific parts
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Process returns and warranty claims as required
- Generate inventory reports and assist with stock analysis
Requirements
- Grade 12 certificate (Matric)
- Computer literacy with proficiency in inventory management software
- Experience with stock control systems and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and work in a warehouse environment
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory calculations
