About the Role
A leading modular engineering solutions company is seeking an experienced Estimator to develop accurate, defensible cost models for engineering projects. The successful candidate will support commercial bids across FEED, EPS, and modular product deliveries by building detailed cost estimates, coordinating with technical teams, and ensuring alignment with approved cost structures and pricing logic.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop accurate cost models for modular engineering solutions, FEED deliverables, EPS conversions, and configurable modules
- Estimate labour, materials, fabrication, electrical/instrumentation builds, logistics, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle costs
- Ensure alignment with approved cost structures, overheads, multipliers, and pricing logic
- Work closely with Engineering, Procurement, and Fabrication teams to confirm quantities, BOQs, durations, and assumptions
- Gather vendor pricing, technical inputs, and discipline-specific resource estimates
- Support the Bid & Proposals Lead with pricing summaries, commercial schedules, and risk-adjusted estimates
- Identify and quantify commercial risks, uncertainties, and cost drivers
- Highlight potential margin exposures
Requirements
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Experience building cost models for engineering projects
- Understanding of labour, materials, fabrication, logistics, installation, and commissioning cost drivers
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and engineering specifications
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Option 1)
- Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Option 2)
- No formal qualification, but strong proven experience in estimating within engineering, fabrication, modular plants, or related technical environments (Option 3)
