Job Summary
Our Client in the FMCG / Manufacturing Industry is seeking to employ a Cost Accountant to their team based in Heidelberg ,Gauteng.
Requirements:
- Self-motivated and capable of working under pressure.
- Costing experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably within the meat or food industry).
- Advanced Excel proficiency and general computer literacy.
- High level of confidentiality, particularly regarding proprietary recipes.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Com or equivalent qualification with proven costing experience.
- Valid drivers license.
- Willingness to travel between operational locations when required.
Responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Perform daily costing calculations of recipes.
- Continuously maintain and update recipes and related costings.
- Submit and control floor recipes for production use.
- Liaise with relevant departments to gather accurate recipe information.
- Maintain and update the product master database.
- Provide and manage product barcode listings.
- Monitor and update purchase price variances.
- Control and update standard costs for all items and products.
- Maintain the costing model using Microsoft Excel.
- Analyse production variance reports related to costing.
- Prepare the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) budget.
- Generate and provide management reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Observe production processes as needed for costing accuracy.
- Report to the Management Cost Accountant.
