About the Role
Our client operates within the professional accounting and advisory services sector, providing financial, tax, and payroll support to a diverse client base across multiple international markets. The firm supports businesses with structured financial management and compliance services across various reporting frameworks. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of accounting, tax, and financial reporting engagements across multiple teams
- Coordinate workflow across monthly accounting, VAT, annual reporting, tax compliance, and project-based engagements
- Monitor engagement progress and identify potential risks, delays, or capacity constraints
- Implement corrective planning and resource adjustments when delivery timelines are at risk
- Supervise and support a team of accounting professionals across multiple engagements
- Delegate work based on technical complexity, deadlines, and team capacity
- Review financial statements and accounting work prepared by team members for accuracy and compliance
- Support the onboarding, training, and development of junior staff members
- Maintain oversight of accounting delivery performance across work streams
- Coordinate with senior accounting staff to ensure work is aligned with departmental objectives
- Manage and maintain an assigned client portfolio and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding deliverables, timelines, and requests
- Prepare operational reports for senior management on team performance and engagement progress
- Support the coordination of accounting-related projects and improvements to reporting processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (minimum requirement)
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, SAIPA, CA(SA), or equivalent (completed or in progress preferred)
- 8–12 years’ experience in a professional accounting, advisory, or public practice environment
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising or coordinating accounting staff
- Strong experience reviewing financial statements and accounting work prepared by junior staff
- Experience managing multiple engagements and coordinating accounting workflows
- Working knowledge of accounting standards such as IFRS for SMEs, Dutch GAAP, or UK GAAP
- Solid understanding of VAT and corporate income tax compliance
- Experience working with cloud accounting systems and financial reporting tools
- Exposure to accounting projects such as reporting improvements, system implementations, or accounting catch-up engagements
- Experience with Xero, Dext, or Syft is advantageous
- Exposure to Dutch or UK accounting environments is beneficial
