About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking passionate and experienced Assistant Instructors for a leading field guide training facility based in Hoedspruit, with placements available across various locations including Karongwe, Timbavati, Pridelands, and Makuleke camps. This exceptional opportunity is ideal for individuals with solid guiding experience and a passion for mentoring the next generation of field guides.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the general management and daily operations of the training camp
- Support the planning and execution of maintenance on infrastructure, vehicles, and equipment
- Ensure firearms and ammunition are securely stored, properly maintained, and compliant with safety standards
- Liaise with reserve management regarding operational and concession matters
- Provide mentorship and support to students on placement or volunteering in the camp
- Supervise and support Camp Coordinators, who in turn manage cooks and cleaners
- Deliver immersive and inspiring training experiences to course participants
- Plan and facilitate daily educational activities, lectures, and bush walks
- Ensure academic requirements, assessments, and administrative processes are fulfilled accurately
Requirements
- FGASA Nature Site Guide NQF 2/4 qualification
- FGASA Trails Guide NQF 4
- Current Advanced Rifle Handling
- Valid FGASA Membership
- Current NDT Registration
- Previous experience in guiding or related industry
- Valid PDP (desirable)
Salary & Benefits
Salary: R18,000 – R21,000 per month (CTC, dependent on experience)
Accommodation: Single tented accommodation
Meals included while in camp
Bonus incentive based on personal and company performance
