About the Role
The Site Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring seamless communication and operation between the Loading Point and Head Office, facilitating real-time information exchange on loading, fleet availability, and any anomalies that may arise. This position requires a strong understanding of the mine environment, particularly in manganese, coal, iron ore, and other producing mines.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure real-time information is available between the mine and Head Office Transport Team on current situations at the Loading Point.
- Package and report all relevant information to the Regional Transport Manager on a continuous basis.
- Maintain awareness of movements along the specific corridor.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to identify and resolve any operational issues or anomalies.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required.
Requirements
- Experience working in a producing mine environment, particularly with manganese, coal, iron ore, and other minerals.
- Matric with Maths.
- Tertiary qualification in Logistics.
- Familiarity with tonnage, H&S procedures, and operations with trucks at the staging process.
- Knowledge of drivers’ duties, risk reduction measures, and cross-contamination prevention.
