Job Summary
- Ensure that all incidents relevant to SHER are reported, investigated, corrected and learnings disseminated.
- Ensure that all relevant environmental authorizations operating licenses/permits are applied for and are up-to-date and compliance to conditions are monitored.
- Ensure the company is compliant with all applicable SHER legislation and other requirements to which the company subscribes.
- Monitor SHER performance by gathering relevant data and producing statical reports.
- Ensure that all legal appointments are in place in terms of applicable legislation.
- Develop and maintain the occupational health management and monitoring programme.
- Manage all SHER site surveys, audits and assessments.
- Drive the culture of quality, health, safety and environment by raising awareness of SHEQ throughout the site through various initiatives, communication plans and training.
- Manage all SHER related training requirements.
- Assess the site current sustainability performance, identify and prioritize the site key sustainability strategies, i.e., drive energy efficiencies, resource recovery, reduce waste and increase efficiencies, etc.
- Responsible for developing adequate plans/ controls to prevent pollution, respond to emergencies and ensure business continuity.
- Ensure compliance with system and operational protocols, policies, and procedures at site.
- The ongoing Review of the Compliance for implementation of/and compliance to Standard Operating
- Procedures (SOP’s) as means to ensure operational excellence.
- Provide detailed audit reports with findings. Identify non-conformities and provide corrective action measures to prevent re-occurrence.
- Monitor and review those corrective measures that have been implemented.
- Maintain and enhance internal and external customer and contractor relations.
- Need to liaise with the team on all initiatives throughout the business and accurately reporting on the reduction of the carbon footprint, GHG, NAEIS etc
