Job Description

You will play a key role in delivering high-impact actuarial solutions, engaging directly with clients across multiple African jurisdictions, and contributing to the strategic growth of the actuarial practice. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & People Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of actuarial analysts and consultants Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning Review and sign off on actuarial work, ensuring high quality and technical integrity Technical & Client Delivery Oversee and deliver complex actuarial projects, including: Statutory valuations (including IFRS 17 ) Embedded value calculations Capital modelling and solvency assessments ORSA reporting Surplus analysis and experience investigations Model validation, governance, and technical actuarial audits Product pricing and design work Ensure compliance with regulatory, legislative, and professional actuarial standards Act as a senior technical advisor to clients and internal stakeholders Strategy, Growth & Thought Leadership Contribute to research, white papers, and industry presentations Support business development through proposals, tenders, and client pitches Assist in refining actuarial methodologies, models, and internal frameworks Drive innovation through the use of modern analytics, automation, and AI tools Job Experience and Skills Required: Education: Fellow of a recognised actuarial body ( FASSA, FIA, or equivalent ) Experience: 810 years actuarial experience At least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role Strong exposure to insurance valuation, risk modelling, and financial reporting IFRS 17 experience highly advantageous Consulting experience preferred Skills: Proficiency in actuarial and analytical tools such as Prophet, MoSes, R, Python, or similar Strong modelling, statistical, and analytical capability Soft Skills Proven leadership and people-development ability Strong client-facing and stakeholder management skills Commercial awareness and consulting mindset Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment For more exciting Actuarial and Analytics vacancies, please visit:

Job Experience and Skills Required: Education Minimum Requirement: Fellow of a recognised actuarial body (FASSA, FIA or equivalent). Experience: 810 years’ actuarial experience. Minimum 2 years in a leadership or managerial position. Strong technical background in insurance, risk modelling, and financial reporting. IFRS 17 experience advantageous. Skills: Proficiency in actuarial software, such as Prophet, MoSes, R, Python, etc. Strong analytical, statistical, and modelling expertise. Excellent stakeholder and client engagement ability. Leadership qualities with proven team development experience. Commercial awareness and understanding of consulting environments.
