Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid role for an AWS Solutions Architect based in Nairobi, Kenya. This role is well suited for a hands-on cloud consultant who enjoys working closely with clients, translating business requirements into practical AWS solutions, and delivering projects end-to-end.
You will play a key role in shaping cloud architectures, guiding customers through design and implementation decisions, and ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-effective. Working closely with customers, engineers, and leadership, you will help deliver high-impact cloud solutions that address real business challenges.
Key Responsibilities

Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-optimized AWS architectures for client environments

Act as a trusted technical advisor, participating in discovery sessions, solution walkthroughs, and architecture reviews

Translate business and operational requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans

Lead or support cloud migration, modernization, and optimization initiatives

Perform hands-on implementation across AWS compute, storage, networking, security, and monitoring services

Support integration of AWS solutions with existing systems and third-party platforms

Produce high-quality technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and client-facing deliverables

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in a delivery-focused consulting environment
Requirements
- 47 years of relevant professional experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on AWS experience in client-facing or consulting roles

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Strong experience in AWS solution architecture and system integration

Practical, hands-on knowledge of core AWS services and cloud-native design principles

Proven experience working in consulting or customer-facing roles (discovery, delivery, or post-implementation support)

Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Solid understanding of cost-aware cloud design and architectural trade-offs

Experience with software development, scripting, or automation (e.g., Python, Terraform, CloudFormation)

Comfortable working independently while collaborating with a small, high-performing team

Strong problem-solving skills with a high sense of ownership and accountability
