About the Role
A leading logistics and transport company is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with strong experience in fuel, chemical warehousing, and bulk road transport to join their team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will excel at securing high-value contracts, developing innovative logistics solutions, and expanding national warehousing and transport capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive major business growth by securing R100 million+ in new contract revenue within the first year.
- Identify, pursue, and close high-value sales opportunities in the fuel and chemical logistics sector.
- Generate and manage a robust sales pipeline with daily reporting.
- Develop business cases and analyse data to inform solution design.
- Oversee SHEQ compliance within project scope.
- Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting to senior management.
- Hand over secured contracts to regional sales and operations teams for execution.
- Contribute to national expansion efforts, including new warehousing facilities in major regions.
- Monitor performance against sales targets, growth plans, and market intelligence insights.
- Engage professionally with internal and external stakeholders and manage deadlines under pressure.
Requirements
- BCom Logistics or equivalent qualification.
- Valid drivers licence.
- 10+ years experience in chemical/fuel logistics, warehousing, or bulk road transport (contract logistics sales environment).
- Proven capability in identifying new business opportunities and designing end-to-end value-adding logistics solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate C-suite contracts with a strong hunter mindset.
- Comfortable with extensive travel and an independent working style.
- Highly meticulous, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work under pressure.

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics or related field.
