Job Title: Business Development Manager
Job Purpose
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for finding and securing new business opportunities. This is a hands-on sales role — you’ll be actively identifying potential customers, setting up meetings, pitching our solutions, and closing deals. The role requires a self-starter with a strong hunter mentality who thrives on building relationships, creating opportunities, and driving revenue growth. You will represent our company’s technology and managed service offerings, helping prospective clients understand how our solutions can improve their operations and support their business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Prospecting and Lead Generation
Identify and research potential clients across target industries.
Generate new leads through cold calling, networking, social media, and in-person visits.
Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate records of leads, meetings, and opportunities in the CRM.
Attend relevant events, exhibitions, and business forums to build connections and generate interest.
Client Meetings and Presentations
Actively set up and attend meetings with decision-makers and business owners.
Conduct discovery sessions to understand client pain points and match them with suitable solutions.
Deliver engaging product and service presentations that demonstrate value and ROI.
Follow up consistently on all leads and opportunities to progress deals through the sales cycle.
Sales and Revenue Growth
Drive the entire sales process from lead generation to closing.
Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and contracts.
Meet and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
Collaborate with the technical and operations teams to ensure smooth handover of new accounts.
Market Engagement
Actively promote the company’s brand and services in the marketplace.
Stay informed on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
Provide feedback to management on market conditions and customer requirements.
Relationship Building
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and potential customers.
Ensure a positive customer experience throughout the sales journey.
Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling additional services once relationships are established.
Reporting and Administration
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in the CRM.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on leads, opportunities, and sales performance.
Work closely with management to forecast sales and identify new areas for growth.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
3–5+ years of proven new business sales experience, preferably in IT solutions, managed services, or technology sales.
Demonstrated success in prospecting, cold calling, setting meetings, and closing deals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
Highly motivated, target-driven, and results-oriented.
Confident engaging at senior management and business owner level.
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable transport (role involves regular client visits).
Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite.
