About the Role
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our high-growth, innovation-led organisation operating at the intersection of technology and investment. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of EXCO, this executive-level position requires a commercially astute and forward-thinking finance leader who can balance disciplined governance with entrepreneurial agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and Executive Team to shape and execute overall business strategy
- Lead financial strategy aligned to short-, medium- and long-term objectives
- Oversee financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Ensure accurate, transparent reporting in line with IFRS and regulatory standards
- Establish and track financial KPIs, dashboards and performance metrics
- Drive capital structure planning, liquidity management and funding strategies
- Lead investor relations, funding engagements and due diligence processes
- Oversee governance, risk management and internal control frameworks
- Serve as liaison to auditors, regulators, banks and legal advisors
- Build and develop a high-performing, future-ready finance team
- Champion financial systems optimisation, data integrity and scalable reporting capabilities
Requirements
- CA(SA) or equivalent professional finance qualification
- Postgraduate qualification in Finance, Accounting or Business; MBA advantageous
- 10–15 years’ senior financial leadership experience in technology, venture capital, fintech, digital platforms or other high-growth environments
- Demonstrated success in strategic financial leadership and capital raising
- Strong governance, compliance and risk management expertise
- Experience supporting scaling businesses, investment portfolios or M&A initiatives
