About the Role
The Contract Management function within our Legal Department is responsible for the effective management of all mining-related contracts to ensure legal compliance, commercial protection, and operational efficiency. This function supports mining operations, projects, procurement, and supply chain activities by overseeing the full contract lifecycle and mitigating legal, financial, and operational risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including drafting, review, negotiation, execution, administration, amendment, renewal, and close-out of contracts.
- Draft and review mining-specific contracts such as mining services agreements, EPCM and construction contracts, contractor agreements, off-take agreements, joint ventures, and confidentiality agreements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable mining and environmental legislation, including the MPRDA, MHSA, environmental laws, and company governance frameworks.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in contract management within a mining, construction, or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of commercial and mining-related contract law.
- Experience managing high-value and high-risk operational and project contracts.
- Knowledge of mining regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams in operational environments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Admission as an Attorney (advantageous).
- Postgraduate qualification in Contract Management, Mining Law, or Commercial Law (advantageous).
