About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join our team in Durban, responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of payroll processes and systems, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and processing of monthly payroll in an accurate and timely manner.
- Capture and update employee payroll information, including new appointments, terminations, salary changes, and deductions.
- Verify timesheets, attendance records, and leave data to ensure correct payroll calculations.
- Maintain and update payroll records and employee files in line with company policies and legislation.
- Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy before final submission for payment.
- Assist with the administration of statutory deductions, including UIF, PAYE, and other applicable contributions.
- Respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timeous manner.
- Support HR and Finance departments with payroll-related reports and documentation.
- Ensure strict confidentiality of all employee and payroll information at all times.
- Assist in preparing monthly payroll reports for management review.
- Maintain compliance with relevant labour laws and payroll regulations.
Requirements
- Must be based in Durban or surrounding areas
- Minimum 13 years experience in an administrative role
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of payroll processes and systems
- Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
