Our client is a leading global agribusiness and supply-chain company, providing high-quality agricultural inputs and end-to-end solutions to a diverse mix of commercial farms, distributors, and large-scale agricultural projects. They operate across multiple regions, ensuring reliable supply and tailored support to help clients optimise productivity and achieve sustainable growth. They are seeking a Corporate Finance Specialist to join their team in Johannesburg or Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate finance, project finance, or risk assessment, strong financial modelling and analysis skills, and the ability to evaluate project feasibility, manage financing, and assess credit risk. Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively are essential for success in this role.

Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to drive high-impact financial decisions, assess new business opportunities, and support the successful execution of key projects across the business. The business is structured around multiple project entities and works closely with lenders, external advisers, and strategic partners to bring major initiatives to completion. They are recognised for their commitment to high governance standards, strong financial management, and a collaborative, solutions-driven culture. The environment is fast-paced, analytical, and highly professional, offering employees exposure to strategic decision-making and project development from inception through to execution. As the Corporate Finance Specialist, you will play a critical role in evaluating the financial feasibility of new projects, performing in-depth financial analysis, and mitigating financial risks. You will support projects from inception through to completion, managing financing processes, negotiating funding solutions, and presenting insights to Executive Leadership. You will also be responsible for analysing credit risk, interpreting financial and legal data, and ensuring robust financial governance across project and operating companies. Duties: Develop and maintain complex financial models for project and investment analysis Engage and negotiate with lenders and financial advisers to secure funding Manage financial close, loan compliance, drawdowns, and gearing levels Conduct investment analysis, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic opportunities Assess financial, market, and credit risks and implement mitigation strategies Evaluate customer creditworthiness and make informed credit decisions Review monthly financial performance and support budgeting and audits Prepare and present financial and investment reports to executive committees and boards Job Experience & Skills Required: Qualifications: Grade 12 (Matric) Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field Honours/Masters degree advantageous CA(SA), CFA, or similar preferred Experience: 6 years experience in corporate finance, financial analysis, or similar roles Strong financial modeling, data analysis and reporting capability Proficiency in Excel and financial software/ERP systems Skills & Competencies: Strong verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills High level of analytical and problem-solving ability Ability to interpret complex financial models and legal/commercial clauses Resourceful, ethical, and able to work under pressure Advanced Excel skills If you have not had any response in two weeks, please consider the vacancy application unsuccessful. Job Description

Corporate Finance Engage with lenders, insurers, tax advisers and financial advisers Negotiate and finalise financial documentation for funding arrangements Coordinate financial close, funding drawdowns and compliance requirements Manage lender requirements post-close, including covenant and reporting compliance Oversee placement of guarantees and ensure optimal gearing within project companies Forecast shareholder funding requirements Financial Modelling Build and maintain advanced financial models for project evaluation, investment decisions and performance tracking Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess key risks and outcomes Collaborate with internal teams to validate inputs and lifecycle costing Deliver cash flow forecasts and analyse contractual terms (buy-out, flexible agreements) Provide insights and recommendations based on modelling outputs. Investment Analysis Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions and strategic investment opportunities Support transaction structuring and negotiation to maximise value Research new markets and jurisdictions to assess cost, feasibility and risk Financial Risk Management Assess market, credit and liquidity risks across the business. Develop strategies to mitigate key financial exposures Monitor compliance with risk policies and support ongoing improvements Assist in analysing hedging, tax, legal and innovative funding opportunities Credit Evaluation & Policy Assess customer creditworthiness through financial statements, reports and relevant data Perform industry research to evaluate long-term sustainability of client sectors Develop, review and maintain credit policies aligned with governance and lender requirements Communicate credit decisions and guidance to internal stakeholders Asset Management Review monthly performance of project companies and report findings Update financial models quarterly, track performance metrics and forecast cash flows Assess delay and revenue-related damages Prepare monthly performance forecasts and support budgeting. Assist with audit engagements and review of financial statements Reporting & Presentation Prepare and support presentations for board-level subcommittees Assist in monthly asset management reporting Skills & Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role Experience working in Renewable Energy, Project, Solar, Infrastructure or DFI funded space Debt raising experience including liaising and engaging with Lenders Experience in Modelling at Project Level Experience in proposals to Lenders Hands-on experience within the Corporate Finance Space, and wholly owning the full function Qualification: CA(SA) / CFA or relevant qualification Contact ALEXANDRA MALONEY on
