About the Role
The Dealmaker will play a critical role in evaluating funding applications and determining whether businesses meet our organisation’s credit standards. This involves developing and refining deal structures, preparing financial models, reports, and investment documents for committee decision-making, as well as drafting and concluding loan and security agreements.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate funding applications and perform detailed financial assessments
- Develop and refine deal structures to align with client needs and responsible lending principles
- Prepare financial models, reports, and investment documents for committee decision-making
- Draft and conclude loan and security agreements
- Monitor loan compliance and engage with borrowers to resolve issues
- Track credit exposure throughout the life of each transaction
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure processes, documentation, and decisions meet our organisation’s requirements

- Strong ability to analyse financial information
- Confidence in reviewing credit applications and conducting due diligence
- Ability to build models and assess business sustainability
- Skilled in managing multiple deal-related tasks and producing clear written reports
- Comfortable operating independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams
- Capable of applying structured methodologies, legal awareness, and quantitative techniques
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Science is required. Professional qualifications such as CA(SA) or CFA are advantageous.
