About the Role
The Dealmaker will play a critical role in evaluating funding applications and determining whether businesses meet our organisation’s credit standards. This involves developing and refining deal structures, ensuring that lending terms align with both client needs and responsible-lending principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate funding applications and perform detailed financial assessments
- Develop and refine deal structures to ensure alignment with client needs and responsible-lending principles
- Prepare financial models, reports, and investment documents for committee decision-making
- Draft and conclude loan and security agreements
- Monitor loan compliance and engage with borrowers to resolve issues
- Track credit exposure throughout the life of each transaction
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure that all processes, documentation, and decisions meet our organisation’s credit, operational, and governance requirements
Requirements
- Strong ability to analyse financial information
- Confidence in reviewing credit applications and conducting due diligence
- Skilled in managing multiple deal-related tasks
- Comfortable operating independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams
- Capable of applying structured methodologies, legal awareness, and quantitative techniques to evaluate funding opportunities effectively
Qualifications
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Science
- Professional qualifications such as CA(SA) or CFA are advantageous
