About the Role
The Cross-Border Operations Manager is a critical role that requires a seasoned professional to oversee the movement of goods into and out of Southern Africa. This position demands a strong understanding of border documentation requirements, processes, and customs compliance, as well as excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate cross-border movements
- Ensure accurate costing and budgeting for all aspects of the department
- Manage and lead the operational team to achieve overall operational KPIs
- Develop and implement process improvements
- Nurture strong relationships with suppliers and officials at border posts
- Monitor fuel consumption and driver management
- Brief daily team leaders on key performance indicators
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a manager in a cross-border or transport operations environment
- Strong understanding of all relevant border fees and requirements
- Thorough knowledge of costing and budgeting
- Code 8 Driver’s license with own reliable transport
- Ability to communicate well on all levels from general workers to directors
